If you follow me on twitter, you probably noticed that I was super antsy today. As of today, the new digs are officially ours (at least for the next year), and I’m really looking forward to the change in residences! Right now, I live smack dab in the middle of the city, making our current apartment extremely walkable. However, it feels so far removed from nature (no real close parks around). Our new place still has great walkability (walk score of 85 out of 100), and I get to see trees and grass again!
Welcome to our new place!
Above is the main living room area. The accent wall came with the apartment, and the windows at the end leads to a small balcony.
Kitchen area to the right, part of the dining area on the left. The kitchen cabinetry is all relatively new, and I still get my dishwasher (I hate doing dishes by hand!). I have a feeling this will be my favorite area of the apartment
Bathroom #1 (not really exciting–but I thought I’d post these pics for the mom–she still hasn’t seen the apartment yet!)
Bathroom #2 (the bathroom connected to my room)
And my bedroom–I’m loving the mirror doors to the closet! A girl needs a full-length mirror
Unfortunately, these were all the pictures I could get in before the sun set. We are definitely going to need 1-2 more standing lamps for the rooms, as there is only overhead lighting in the kitchen and hallway.
Dinner was quick and ‘dirty’–Josh and I stopped by Wendy’s for a hamburger (I’m not really a fast food person, but we didn’t get to eat until late). Now I’m closing the night off some Wedding Crashers. See you all tomorrow with more moving pics!

I love it!!!
Thanks Eliss! I’m happy with it too
ahhh, Wedding Crashers, a good one!
just found your blog but wanted to say HI and am always interested to read up on what other fitness fans are up to. CONGRATS on the new digs, it looks great and i’m with you and really like living in a place where i can see at least some greenery! good luck with getting all settled in and i’m sure u’ll have lots of fun decorating.
oh, and i’m not usually a fast foodie either, but not gonna lie i’m still a sucker for taco bell bean burritos and at wendy’s a frosty.
Thanks Cait! Wedding Crashers is one my favorites! About to get started moving some stuff over, so I’m excited to see how the new place shapes up!
I’m glad to see I’m not the only healthy foodie that eats fast food once in a blue moon–I don’t think it’s talked about often in healthy living blogs, but somethings the quick food option is better than no food and an empty stomach!
honestly, i’ll see anything with owen wilson…love him!
and you’re right, it’s like fast food is the dirty little secret of ‘healthy’ people!! haha, but there not only is a time and place for convenience (i mean, we live in the real world) but you can always find SOMETHING relatively healthy to eat nearly anywhere. plus, all in moderation..aaaaand, i also say that being that we are highly active we deserve a little extra lee-way when it comes to the eating.
Agreed on all counts
SUPER cute new place! I love that red accent wall in the living room area! Moving into a new place that’s all clean just feels like such a fresh start! The cabinets in the dining area area really nice touch too. I like your place a lot! Hope you’re happy in your new apartment!!
Thanks Katie! I’m also in love with the red accent wall–a little color can do wonders for an apartment. Here’s hoping we don’t scratch up that wall when we move in–that would make me sad
love the new place! so true about the mirrors
The boyfriend keeps joking that the mirrors are just going to make him want to work out more…while I think they are awesome because I’ll finally be able to figure out whether my shoes go with my outfit
Congrats on the new place! Walkability is definitely a plus! From your pictures, the floor plan looks very similar to the apartment we rented prior to buying our townhome. I really like the built-in in the dining room–you can never have too much storage.
The built-in is one of my favorite features as well! We just hope that the table we have is not too big for that area.
